Douglas D. Milne, III is one of the most respected names in Darien real estate—and rightfully so. Over the last three decades, Doug’s level of professionalism has been a major component in the shaping of the local real estate industry. He has instructed hundreds of area realtors in real estate finance, transforming them from “acting” mortgage brokers into knowledgeable, financially-savvy agents. Furthermore, he developed and implemented the first computerized financing and qualification system in the industry, which streamlined the approval process. Against industry resistance, he initiated new standard operating procedures such as yard signs, open houses and creative marketing programs for each property. To this day, Doug still crafts a custom marketing plan for each property he represents.
Doug graduated from Connecticut College with a B.A. in Economics, which lead him to computer sales and sales management at IBM. As an answer to the banking crisis in 1992, he formed REO Solutions, an entity to broker bank owned property. Additionally, Doug was a Founder and Chairman of The Board of the Bank of Darien, which added further to his extensive finance experience.
As a near-lifelong resident of Darien, Doug is well grounded in the community. He has many established area contacts and has access to countless networks critical to the success of timely, challenging transactions.
